What I Tested…

  • BytheTable’s Ombré Modular Cookware ($180)

How I Tested…

I incorporated BytheTable’s Ombré Modular Cookware into my regular meal-prep routine over the course of six weeks, taking note of how easily it could be stored, its nonstick capabilities, weight, and general ease of use.

Test Results…

  • Versatility. Going into the testing period of this cookware, I wasn’t expecting to be floored, but here I am. This cookware is lightweight, compact, and oven-safe up to 670 degrees. It comes with an 8- and 11-inch fry pan, corresponding lids, an 8-quart pot, a magnetic lid knob, a removable handle, and a magnetic spatula. What makes this modular is that you can add and remove the levered handle and magnetic knob to any of the pieces. The idea is that you can take something right off the stove or out of the oven, remove the handle and lid, and serve directly.

  • Sleekness. These pieces are incredibly easy to store. They’re thin, and the removal of the handles and knobs allows them to be neatly and securely stacked without scratching.

  • Nonstick nature. This cookware is made of a lightweight aluminium coated in nontoxic, PFAS-, PFTA-, and PFOA-free ceramic titanium. Over the years, I’ve gotten more and more skeptical about nonstick pans. They tend to get less effective over time, and I figured that because these pans are so thin, they might be low quality. This is not the case. In fact, the nonstick quality was far better than the other pans in my rotation. Eggs slid right off the pan, leaving no residue behind.

  • Price. You get three full cookware pieces, along with a spatula, for $180. Given the quality, versatility, and seamless storage, this is a steal. If you’re looking for beginner-friendly, cost-effective cookware, definitely consider this set.

Sidenotes…

  • The handle is sturdy and is easy to clip on thanks to a lever mechanism; I never worried about it not being able to hold what I was cooking.

  • This set comes in three ombré colorways: pastel purple, pale blue, and forest green.

  • This set is dishwasher-safe, though I always handwash mine with a nonabrasive sponge to ensure the coating lasts. You’ll also want to avoid scraping or scratching with other tools and utensils.
