Splurge vs. Save
Today’s showdown: two beaded shoulder bags that are eerily similar:
The Splurge: Staud Tommy Bag ($250+)
Staud’s Tommy Bag has been Instagram-famous for as long as we can remember. Our Affiliate Manager, Abby, finally got her hands on one of the bags after months of waiting. She raves about its thick lining, countless pockets, and spaciousness for an evening bag. In her eyes, it has been fantastic for daytime errands and nights out. Skip it if you’re worried about having to be overly precious with an expensive bag, but if you’ve been looking for a unique evening bag, go for it.
The Save: Anthropologie Fiona Bag ($88+)
Our Affiliate Manager also owns the Fiona bag and she claims that it’s a lot smaller than Staud’s Tommy bag. While Staud’s holds most everyday essentials, Anthropologie’s Fiona is better for just a cardholder, your phone, and keys. Abby notes that the cloth lining is noticeably thinner and the strap has a hard time keeping its shape. If you don’t have the budget for a $300+ bag, are new to the trend, or aren’t precious with your bag, this is a great alternative.
