Don't Wait Journey: It’s too hard to schedule and I’m too busy

October 15, 2024

Welcome to the
Don’t Wait Health Challenge

Did you know that almost half of women don’t get their recommended checkups and screenings? Today we’re kicking off theSkimm’s Don’t Wait health challenge. Each day this week in the Daily Skimm, we’ll help you take one small, impactful step toward getting your preventative care. We’ll also suggest tools and resources to make it as easy as possible.

We did your homework.

Yesterday you told us health checkups are too hard to schedule and you’re too busy. (Honestly, same.) Over the next four days, we’ll help you get them done — efficiently.

We’re all operating beyond capacity. Work, kids, aging parents, incontinent dogs: Whatever your unique list of responsibilities, there is just no time or will left to research which appointments you need.

So we did the work for you. Today, go to our Don’t Wait page, select your age, and you’ll see a list of all of the appointments recommended for you, and how often you’ll need them. Screenshot the list for easy reference.

Get ’em on the books.

To make scheduling appointments more efficient, block off a one- to two-hour slot on your calendar.

Clients are circling back and someone is shouting at you to guess their truck’s name. You do not have time to navigate an automated phone system or, worse, a portal to get a doctor’s appointment.

Fortunately, there’s an easier way.

🗓️ Block time on your calendar for an appointment-making sprint.

🔍 During that block, go back to our Don’t Wait page and click the “Book Now” button next to each appointment recommended for your age to find providers in your area who take your insurance.

🏁 Book them then and there.

Make your appointments work for you.

You booked your appointments. That’s huge. Now get the most out of them.

You didn’t come this far to forget what you’ve been meaning to ask your doctor or tolerate insurance company shenanigans. We recommend these tools and resources to help you prep for your appointments:

Set it and (partly) forget it.

Look who found the time to get preventive care. You got a list of the appointments you needed, booked them all in one sprint, and prepped to get the most out of your checkups.

Now for the last step: Click here to set automatic calendar reminders to book the appointments you need in the future. You can even paste the link to our Don’t Wait page in the reminder, so it’s easy to see what you need every year. Consider one small piece of your mental load lifted.
