If you’re looking for justification to buy new clothes this season, consider this: You probably wear jeans weekly, and you definitely wear shoes with them. So, cost-per-wear-wise, you're in the black (girl math). Now that we're on the same page, we’ve found all the best jean styles now to wear forever, plus the shoes that'll look best with them.

A slim-leg jean in a spring color…
If you ask us, off-white denim is a spring staple. These have a slim leg that borders on skinny (which is trending again) and a mid-rise fit that’ll be comfortable all day. The ankle length is great for pairing with loafers or booties. We’d also grab the black to dress up with heels for a night out. ($168, Buck Mason)

Leather loafers with a fun detail…
Loafers are an essential spring shoe, since there are so many ways to wear them. These will set you apart from the crowd with the subtle heart chain detail. They’ll look cute with jeans, but also with socks and a skirt. It’s hard to go wrong with the black or red. ($148, Free People)

Our favorite low-rise jeans…
These are the jeans that made us like low-rise again. They’re so incredibly comfortable — the denim has a little stretch — that we’ve worn them on long travel days. Get your usual size if you want them baggy, but if you want them fitted, we would size down. ($90, Abercrombie & Fitch)

A retro pair of sneakers you’ll wear every day…
If you’re looking for the next sneaker trend, it’s retro. We haven’t seen these Sauconys in years and forgot how cute they are. They have a sporty look and pair well with jeans or dresses. Plus, bright colors are trending for spring. ($90, Urban Outfitters)

A pair of Levi’s that look vintage…
We’ll forever be wearing Levi’s, whether they’re brand new or we bought them years ago. These have a super high-rise fit that’s somehow still comfortable and a wide leg that gives them a ’70s feel. Grab the matching vest for a chic Canadian tuxedo. ($98, Levi’s)

An investment ankle boot that’ll last…
I will never part with my beloved Staud Wally ankle boots. While I know they’re definitely pricey, I’ve worn them for years and they still look brand new. The slim square toe is so chic peeking out of your pant leg and the heel is the perfect height for all-day wear. They’re my most reached-for shoe to go with jeans. ($395, Staud)

A pair of barrel jeans that are more versatile than you think…
Love them or hate them, barrel jeans are here to stay, and we recommend you give them a shot. They’re as comfy as low-rise pairs but with a little more structure, thanks to the horseshoe leg. Since the silhouette is so interesting on its own, just pair them with a T-shirt for an instant outfit. ($98, Free People)

A heeled sandal you’ll be able to wear all day…
And if you want to dress up your barrel-leg jeans, add a little height. These are the perfect spring sandals, with their easy-to-walk-in block heel, secure ankle strap, and square toe. Plus, they have a memory foam insole, so even if you’re trekking around a city, you won’t be in pain. ($238, Nordstrom)

A baby bootcut jean to give the trend a try…
We love that bootcut jeans have been making their way back into style. The ankle length on this pair ensures you won’t look like you just hopped off a horse (go for the full leg, if you're into that). This lived-in midwash gives you a distinctly vintage look. ($268, Nordstrom)

A classic ballet flat that looks more expensive than it is…
Quince has done it again. These affordable ballet flats are made of soft, buttery leather that’ll only get more comfortable with wear. Plus, they have extra cushioning to support high arches. They’re a great way to make a jeans outfit more polished instantly. ($69.90, Quince)

A pair of high-rise jeans with a loose leg…
This pair has a fitted waist and loose, full legs that will make the dreaded waist gap a thing of the past. It’s a ’90s silhouette that looks both put-together and relaxed at the same time. They come in so many washes, lengths, and sizes, so you can find the perfect pair. ($100, Abercrombie & Fitch)

Converse sneakers that are too cute to pass up…
Can we collectively agree that it’s time for the Converse comeback? These marry two of spring’s biggest trends: gingham and pale pink. Needless to say, they’re the epitome of cool. Plus, they come with interchangeable ribbon laces. What are you waiting for? ($80, Free People)

The jeans you’ll reach for daily…
With a high-rise fit and slim leg, it doesn’t get more perfect than this pair. They come in two washes that are appropriate for all seasons and sizes up to 40. They’re thick but have a bit of stretch, so they won’t pinch or dig if you’re in them all day. They pair just as well with heels for a night out as they do loafers to the office. ($138, Universal Standard)

A heeled sandal in spring’s hottest hue…
Pale pink again, but this time in a croc-embossed sandal. With its bow detail and kitten heel, they’re dainty yet chic enough to dress up a pair of jeans. Plus, a shorter heel means your feet won’t be hurting by midday. They also come in brown suede and white patent leather. ($248, Reformation)

A pair of flare jeans from the Gap archives…
We love seeing Gap making a comeback, especially since their jeans have always been top-notch. While each style is slightly different — some have front pockets or two-tone washes — the flared leg is what they all have in common. The fit (and price) is so good, you’ll want to grab a few pairs. ($49.99+, Gap)

A mule made out of breathable fabric…
Petition to bring back the mule (raise your hand if you remember Candie’s from the ’90s). These are like the glove booties we know and love but in sandal form. The upper is soft and stretchy, so you can wear these on the hottest days. The square toe is chic, the block heel is comfortable, and they’ll go with any outfit. We’ve found your new favorite pair. ($118, Everlane)
